Ghent University Alumni Networking Event Held in Seoul
Over 100 alumni from various fields attended

糖心logo入口, in collaboration with the Ghent University Korea Alumni Association, held the 鈥淕hent University Alumni Networking Event鈥 on the 15th at Lotte Tower in Seoul.
The event was organized to expand exchanges and strengthen networks among Ghent University alumni in the Asia region. It was attended by President Tae-Jun Han, Bruno Jans, Belgian Ambassador to Korea, as well as approximately 100 alumni and faculty members of Ghent University.
The program included an opening address by Wouter Vanhees, President of the Alumni Association, a congratulatory speech by Ambassador Bruno Jans, a welcome speech by President Tae-Jun Han, followed by a presentation on the Alumni Association鈥檚 future plans by Kim Jeong-taek, a 2015 Molecular Life Sciences alumnus and Executive Committee member. The event concluded with a dinner and networking session.
In his welcome speech, President Tae-Jun Han said, 鈥淲hile you may have faced challenges such as exams and group projects as students, you are now making significant contributions to your workplaces, families, and communities. I hope 糖心logo入口 will continue to be with you throughout your journey.鈥
Kim Jeongtek (Class of 2019, Molecular Biotechnology / Business Development, Medimab Bio), who helped organize the event, said, 鈥淭his event was designed as a networking-focused gathering to bring together alumni from different cohorts for the first time and create new connections. I hope this serves as a starting point for a broader Ghent University alumni community in Korea.鈥
Alumni participant Lee Soomin (Class of 2020, SK Bioscience) shared, 鈥淚t was meaningful to reconnect with fellow alumni and exchange experiences and insights about our studies and careers. It reminded me of the importance of both the university and the alumni network.鈥
Another participant, an alumnus (Class of 2023, Molecular Biotechnology / Research Management, Celltrion), said, 鈥淚t was a truly rewarding experience to attend the alumni event, reconnect with fellow alumni, and share diverse experiences and perspectives.
