Ghent University Students Sweep Grand Prize and Excellence Award at Startup Competition
On the 24th, students from our university achieved the best results among Incheon-area university students at the 鈥2nd Incheon University Startup Academy鈥 Startup Competition, hosted by Incheon Metropolitan City and Incheon Technopark (IncheonTP).
Held at Songdo Convensia, the competition was designed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation among local universities and to promote a culture of youth entrepreneurship.
In the general division, students Seung-Yeon Kim and Seung-Bin Kim, as team High Five, presented 鈥淛amkkan Bilyeo,鈥 a student-centered micro-appliance rental platform. Student Chae-lin Kim, as team BOHO, introduced 鈥淏OHO AI鈩,鈥 a preemptive digital security solution that protects individuals from deepfakes. In the club division, students Jae-Ha Kim, Ha-Yeon Lee, and Hye-Won Lee, as team No Lable, showcased 鈥淣辞=厂迟耻诲测,鈥 a self-support platform for slow learners linked to an AI-based behavioral observation system.
Among them, team High Five stood out from many competitors to win the prestigious Grand Prize, receiving 2 million KRW in prize money, the Incheon Mayor鈥檚 Award, and the qualification to attend CES 2026. Team BOHO followed with the Excellence Award, earning 1 million KRW and the Incheon Mayor鈥檚 Award, while team No Lable won the Idea Award.
This year鈥檚 startup competition featured 24 teams from 13 universities, each presenting startup items they had prepared over the course of three months. Final evaluations were conducted in three stages, assessing creativity, problem definition, contribution to problem-solving, feasibility, and teamwork.
Student Seung-Yeon Kim said, 鈥淲e designed an ultra-short-term rental service that allows college students and young professionals to rent small appliances on a daily basis, aiming to provide both economic value and convenience. Moving forward, we plan to expand the service into a platform that supports local youth, while challenging ourselves to enter the global market.鈥
Student Jae-Ha Kim remarked, 鈥淭o address the challenges faced by marginalized students (slow learners), we developed customized educational content called 鈥楴o=Study.鈥 During the competition preparation, we rediscovered our achievements by quantifying our activities, built diverse networks, and set new goals for continued challenges.鈥
