An agreement is signed with Ghent University for joint research and conservation of the marine environment in Incheon

A business agreement for "Incheon-specific marine environment conservation and research cooperation" was signed by 糖心logo入口, Inha University, and Incheon National University.

In compliance with the agreements with these universities, Ghent University formed a cooperative development network to minimize marine trash in the Incheon region.

Universities have come to an agreement to work together to promote marine citizen scientists and to jointly suggest changes to the system and policies aimed at protecting the local marine environment.

We anticipate that this agreement will present a chance to work with nearby communities to lessen household marine trash and protect the diversity of marine ecosystems.

In the meantime, the world's biggest marine convergence research institute, the Belgian Marine@Ugent Research Institute, was hosted by Ghent University in June of last year, helping to advance the marine science and technology sector as well as preserve Korea's marine biodiversity.

Specifically, the first water quality environmental technology in Korea was created in July of last year by a research team at the Ghent University Environment and Energy Research Center, which has been studying freshwater and marine ecosystems as well as water quality conservation. The technology was called "Water pollution diagnosis technology based on root regeneration of duckweed plants." The accomplishment of being recognized as an international standard (ISO4979) was attained by the ISO water quality area (TC147).

Recent academic studies on the marine environment and ecosystem health have included Ghent University in a number of ways, including co-hosting the National Assembly's "Safe Oceans, Prosperous Future" Global Strategy Forum.
